THIS IS THEIR LOVE STORY
Lindsay and Kenny actually met on the dating app Tinder. Neither of them really took the app seriously or was expecting anything to come out of it but I guess the app show them otherwise! Lindsay had just moved 15 minutes outside of the city to Manayunk with a few of her friends and Kenny had just moved to into Center City with one of his friends. Lindsay says, “We ‘matched’ and he messaged me one of those cheesy lines. I remember it being a Monday and I read his message to my roommates and we all laughed. I didn't usually answer people on the app but I decided to message back Kenny. We talked here and there, and he ended up asking me to dinner right after I had recovered from getting my wisdom teeth removed.” Lindsay said she was so nervous to go out on a date with someone she barely knew and was almost ready to cancel it, but so happy that she didn’t. Kenny had made reservations at a nice restaurant in the city and Lindsay says, “…we still laugh about how all I ordered was soup because that was all I could eat thanks to my wisdom tooth situation. He always jokes, saying I was a cheap date. Jokes on him though because I love food and never again since have I ordered just soup.”
After many more dates, they became inseparable. Lindsay and Kenny say they are complete opposites in many ways. While Lindsay is an extrovert, go with the flow, career in sales type of girl, Kenny on the other hand is more reserved, extremely analytical and smart. But, their differences really bring out the best in each other.
Kenny proposed to Lindsay outside the Philadelphia Art Museum at the top of the steps. Lindsay says, “After I said YES, both of our families came running out from hiding behind some trees/bushes to the side. It was awesome and I love that he had our families there as family means so much to us. He even hired a professional photographer to capture the whole thing. Afterwards, we went back to my house where my best friend set up decorations, food, drinks, etc. for our family and friends to celebrate. It was an amazing/unforgettable day.”
