Liberty House Wedding // Kimberly + Julian
LIBERTY HOUSE WEDDING VIDEO
Overlooking to New York City skyline, Kimberly and Julian’s Jersey City wedding was filled with love, laughter, and amazing food! Walking into the Liberty House Restaurant was like walking into a fairytale winter wonderland…the candles, the greenery, the flocked trees, and the lights all came together to create a warm and magical space to celebrate their union!
Their ceremony was held at the beautiful St. Anthony of Padua Church in Jersey City; and, at the reception, Kim’s father said about his walk down the aisle with his daughter that he’s “had many walks with Kim…this was the shortest but by far it was the best.” We also love when Julian’s cousin, and best man, toasted the newlyweds and said, “there is no stronger bond than the family you choose and you decide to be together with.” And on that December day, Kimberly and Julian decided to be together, forever!
Some of Kim and Julian’s favorites from Brooklyn, like Italian cookies from Court Street Bakery and Brooklyn and Ample Hills Ice Cream were brought over the river for their reception, giving guests a taste of the city they love. Kim and Julian are also lovers of live music, and have been to over 30 concerts together! So, it was natural that on their wedding day, they chose to have a live band — Mod Society was amazing and kept the dance floor packed all night long!
THIS IS THEIR LOVE STORY
In March 2015, Kim was attending a friend’s Manhattan housewarming party, and was instantly drawn to Julian, who was sporting a New York Islanders jersey and sideburns. They talked for most of the party and learned that they both lived and worked in Park Slope, Brooklyn, and their jobs were right across the street from each other! Julian asked for Kim’s number, and left the party to go to the hockey game. A few weeks later, Kim received a text message from an unknown number saying, “I want Mohr!” She instantly knew it was Julian, and they set up their first date!
Two years later, Kim and Julian went to the Cherry Blossom Festival at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden (where they had their second date). It was the hottest day in April, and Kim was eager to find some shade. After taking some photos in front of the cherry blossoms, Kim walked ahead of Julian to get out of the sun, only to feel him grab her shirt. She turned and found him on one knee, holding an engagement ring! For the first time, Kim was speechless! And when they returned to their apartment, they found a spread of food and wine that had been arranged for them while they were at the festival. Julian had also made dinner reservations, which Kim thought was just for the two of them, but it turned out it was actually a celebration with both of their immediate families!
Wishing you both a lifetime full of love and happiness!! Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. Parham! #juleswantsmohr
